Sometimes when I’m really bored I think up names for oddly specific blogs I could claim.
Today’s idea is a tumblr entirely devoted to the clothes and fashion based on and featured in the Back To The Future films.
I would call it Eight Eight Styles Per Hour.

Because Estonian slave traders love scented candles! Of course! …and you don’t dip their hands in wax just so you can...

suddenlystevewasabear said: Boy, you think you know more about candles than me just because you may or may not have been gay for the past three months? I was selling candles to house wives back during the war. Back when we couldn’t afford wax. I just sold matches really.
I highly doubt you were selling matches any time during the war, you charlatan! Anyone who knows about that time period is...

I haven’t stolen any of your Beach Wood, and it deeply offends me that you think I seem like a Beach Wood kind of guy. What you should be...
Day Four: The First Film You Saw At The Cinema
The Lion King!
I don't know why these things pop into my head.
So today I decided I want to get a job at someplace a lot of women shop, like a clothing store or… a place that sells candles. That works. From the day of my application forward, I’m going to speak with a really stereotypical gay lisp and just act generally flamboyant as fuck. I’ll work there for several months and I’ll get to know all of the regulars who come in every day....

bee-stings said: Oh, I really liked it. The music was good, the way it was filmed was beautiful, and of course I love Rooney Mara.
See, I was kinda disappointed by the music, or more specifically, how it worked in the film. I got the soundtrack the day it came out and absolutely loved it as a standalone work. It’s kinda reminiscent of The Fragile, which had the sound I’ve been...
Day Three: The Last Film You Saw At The Cinema
The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. Aside from the fantastic opening credits and Rooney Mara (who really stole the show as Lisbeth Salander), it was just “okay”. Didn’t love it, didn’t hate it.

this is so fucking impressive.
Reblogging because this is something I regularly do while drunk.
Day Two: Your Least Favorite Film
Not sure about this one. I make a point of avoiding movies I know are going to be bad. That being said, I have been forced to watch a lot of romantic comedies. I say “forced” because I often have to be restrained, Clockwork Orange style, to keep me from tearing my hair out and shoving it down my throat to choke myself until the stupid fades to black.

Day One: Your Favorite Film
This is a tough one. It used to be The Matrix but in recent years Kill Bill may have edged its way to number one.

grrrljuice said: Yay for fun facts! I don’t really mind snuff films…I think that with Devil’s Experiment, it was just uncomfortable. Worse than Last House on the Left. (And I’ve watched that with my Dad and older brother) It’s just a group of guys abusing this girl with various different methods, and it’s just…you feel gross. Grotesque, on the other hand was better because it felt like a movie -...
grrrljuice said: Grotesque (I’m jumping in on this convo. It’s my area of expertise lol) It’s been banned, and there are nipple-cutting-off-and made into jewelry. The entire movie is some guy torturing these 2 people. And if you ever feel the need to just feel gross than watch The Guinea Pig series. I had to stop the first movie and than watch it a few years later because it was just…too real....

FUCKING YES. SUCCESS FACE DEPLOYED.
If one single person appreciates that demonstration of obscure band knowledge, today will suddenly be a complete success.

birdsong4j said: Serbian Film is shock for shock’s sake, imo. It wasn’t worth it in any way except for being able to have an opinion on it because I’d seen it.
That was the vibe I got from it. I don’t really have a problem with the concept of blank for blank’s sake unless blank is something I probably wouldn’t want to watch in the first place. The kinda shit that goes down...
hacksawjenny said: See Hobo was actually gonna be my example of where camp and genitals getting hurt is okay. The whole things is so over the top that it’s finne to me. But I guess the nipple slicing scenes in some asian horror are nopes for me so I can understand.
My issue is that I have a hard time flipping my empathy switch off even when I’m watching something campy so I can just...
hacksawjenny said: yeah I’m not in that niche haha, BUT Teeth is worth seeing. I know genital mutilation is scary, but Teeth is very campy and comedic. Mixing violence and sex is okay when it’s a comedy or b-movie but once it’s serious like Serbian film I’m out.
I’m not sure if I find it scary, it just makes me extremely uncomfortable. I can generally tolerate gore, but there are a few...
hacksawjenny said: yeah it really is hard to get through. Not really worth the money if you haven’t already seen it and loved it. A lot of the movies on Criterion I think you would have to really love to buy, like Antichrist. No one is watching that more than once.
That’s the same reason I’m glad I watched Pistol Opera before I impulsively bought it (because I loved Branded to...
