Dream Journal No. 2

I know you don’t care. I just want a place to write the weird ones down and man, were they weird last night.

I only remember bits and pieces of most of them. A few people I haven’t talked to in a while showed up for a bit but I don’t remember who, and I woke up at least once with the feeling that someone else was in the room with me, per usual. Aside from that, there’s really only two that stood out.

The first one opened with me being escorted into some kind of medical examination room. I could hear at least one person listing off data about their subject. 21 year old male, came in a few hours ago with this thing attached to him.  Preliminary tests have been inconclusive but we’re going to run a few- It’s at this point I look down at my right hand, if you can even call it a hand any more. The entire extremity is grotesquely swollen, to the point where all of my fingers have fused together in an unrecognizable mass. On the end of this stump is a black, tumor-like growth, clinging to me like a leech. However, instead of sucking fluid out of me, it seems to be invading my body with a number of fat, black tendrils. I take a moment to look at them closely and I can see them throbbing with life. They contract and expand like crawling earthworms as they push further and further up my arm, and I realize that they aren’t just under my skin, but are actually moving up through my veins. On the skin above them I notice what appear to be black scales, and the thought occurs to me that the creature may not be consuming me, but transforming me from the inside out. I start to wonder what will happen when the black worms reach my heart. What will happen when they reach my brain…

Second dream. In this one I’m on a train (or some kind of moving vehicle with multiple passengers) when someone hands me a puppy. For whatever reason, my mind has managed to comb through every feature of every dog and combine the best ones to create the most adorable thing I’ve ever laid eyes on. I can’t remember many specifics, but I think it somewhat resembled a Beagle. For a while it seems like a perfectly normal dog, but being the fucked up dream scenario it is, I soon start noticing things are a little… off. At one point the dog looks up at me with two totally different colored eyes. At first I think the dog’s eyes are heterochromatic, until it cocks its head to the side and I realize they’re actually iridescent. That is, they change color depending on what angle they’re being viewed from. There’s also something very different about its fur. Each hair is thick but flat, and its coat has changed from a healthy brown to a pale rainbow of colors. As I brush my hand along the dog’s back, several hairs flake off and flutter to the ground. At that moment, I realize the dog’s hair is made of confetti. I continue to pet it until the entire top layers has been shed, revealing a second layer of “hair” made out of dry, brown pine needles. Confused, I continue to brush away the pine needles, which fall off with very little resistance. After a few minutes, I can see the puppy’s bare skin. It’s a dull, dark gray punctuated by sickly green and blue speckles. The once energetic, healthy puppy has been replaced by a malnourished one, curled up and shivering in my lap. It lifts its head and looks right at me. As I stare back into its eyes, now full of sadness and completely devoid of any color, another passenger on the train mutters to himself. I can’t believe he just shaved all the hair off of that poor thing. Why would anyone do that to a perfectly fine puppy?

redpogosticks said: nah! just start posting different stuff then!

Eh, maybe. I was thinking about actually writing things again, so I want to go back and delete a whole bunch of other shit which is too much effort on my part for an internet blog.

I don’t really like this blog any more. It’s gotten stupid.

Might delete it altogether and start a new one.

Swear Words Kids & Explosions

This song is called Swear Words. I wonder how they arrived at that title.

dictionaryofobscuresorrows:

n. the smallest measurable unit of human connection, typically exchanged between passing strangers—a flirtatious glance, a sympathetic nod, a shared laugh about some odd coincidence—moments that are fleeting and random but still contain powerful emotional nutrients that can alleviate the symptoms of feeling alone.

Off on age, by almost a decade, in the wrong direction :(

See what it thinks of you here.

On my notebook computer (logged in to the same Google account, must be due to cookie content variance on the client machine), an even grimmer pronouncement, off by nearly two decades — Age: 65+.

Well damn. Google knows me.

Undergarments….yep.  That sounds about right.  Though, the baby and pet names is because I need names for RPs.

Everything else is spot on.

Too lazy to take a screenshot.

“What does the Washington office of NASA do? THINK space?” —

-Newt Gingrich

Yes, yes they do. There’s not a lot of scientific benefit in sending people to the moon right now. Most of innovation is going to come from the ground while we explore new fuels and theoretical physics.
